What should I do if I haven't heard back from the other party?

Updated on 07/03/2026

Waiting for a reply and not sure what to do? Don't panic: in the vast majority of cases, it's just a short delay. Here is how to handle the situation calmly.

Follow up with your contact via the messaging system

The most effective way is to follow up directly from your Roomlala Inbox. A clear and polite follow-up message is often enough to resolve the situation.

To send your follow-up:

  • Log in to your account, then open your Inbox.
  • Click on the relevant conversation to open it.
  • Write your message, then click on "Send message".

Remember to keep all your communication on the Roomlala messaging system: this way you keep a record of your conversations and stay protected if needed.

No need to worry if your stay is not imminent

If your move-in date is not right away, it is completely normal to wait a little. Both hosts and tenants may need a few days to reply.

Everyone checks their messages at their own pace: the lack of an immediate reply does not mean your request has been ignored. Simply give your contact time to get back to you.

If you still haven't received a reply

You've followed up and the silence continues? To maximize your chances, it's better not to rely on just one conversation:

  • Tenant: feel free to send several booking requests for other listings.
  • Host: continue interacting with other guests interested in your listing.

Finally, if you think you are experiencing a specific issue, our team is here to help. You can contact them here.
