Not receiving rental inquiries?

If you haven't been receiving inquiries for a while, several factors can influence your listing's visibility. Here are our tips to increase your chances of getting new inquiries 👇

1️⃣ Update your listing regularly

The quality of your listing is essential for good search result rankings. The closer your quality rate is to 100%, the more prominent your listing becomes.

Make sure all sections of your listing are complete (no exclamation marks). Roomlala sometimes adds new fields: remember to check regularly!

2️⃣ Verify that your listing is active

Ensure your listing shows the status “Active”.
To check:
- Go to your personal area.
- Click on the “Host Space” tab.
- If the listing appears as deactivated, click the green “Activate” button.

3️⃣ Update your calendar

An up-to-date calendar allows your listing to move up in the search results.
To update it:
- Access your listing modification.
- Click on the “Calendar” section.
- Verify your dates then click on “My calendar is up-to-date”.

4️⃣ Review rental durations

Avoid imposing an overly restrictive minimum or maximum duration (e.g., 3 months minimum). This significantly reduces inquiries.
Many tenants prefer to start with a short duration, then extend if everything goes well 🙂
And don't forget: you can always decline an inquiry without penalty.

5️⃣ Add photos and a video

Ensure you have at least 4 photos and, if possible, a short video of the accommodation or room. This significantly boosts your listing's visibility.

6️⃣ Determine a fair price

If you're unsure about the price, start by performing a search on Roomlala to compare prices of nearby accommodations. Then adjust your prices according to the market.

🙌 Roomlala's advice

For new hosts, it is advisable to offer slightly lower prices than the market initially. This will help you to:
- Get your first satisfied tenant
- Receive a positive review
- Improve your listing's visibility
- And increase your prices more easily afterwards 🚀
