I am not receiving the SMS code 📲

Updated on 04/01/2026

Did you not receive the expected SMS from Roomlala? Don't panic. In most cases, the issue is caused by a simple notification setting or an incorrectly entered number. Here is how to check and fix this in just a few minutes.

Why Roomlala sends you SMS messages

We send you SMS messages in two main situations:

  • To verify your phone number when you sign up.
  • To notify you of an important event, such as a new booking request.

1. Check your notification settings

Log in to your account, go to the "My account" tab, and then to the "Profile" section.

Make sure the following option is checked:

  • "I agree to receive SMS messages to notify me of booking requests"

2. Check your phone number

One wrong digit or country code is all it takes to prevent reception. Check your number and its country code in the "My account" tab, under the "Verifications" section.

3. If the SMS still doesn't arrive

The blockage often comes from your carrier. Here are a few things to check:

  • Carrier spam filter: Some carriers filter automatic SMS messages. Contact your carrier or check your customer portal settings to unblock them.
  • Prepaid or unpaid plan: If your balance is low, or if there is an unpaid or late payment, your carrier may suspend SMS reception.

Is SMS verification mandatory?

Yes, and it is important. Validating your number via SMS remains the only way to confirm your phone. It allows other members of the Roomlala community to easily reach you in the event of a booking, and it strengthens trust between hosts and guests.
