All our tips for choosing and taking beautiful photos/videos of your home 📸
How to choose the right photos for your listing ?
Always start by posting the first photo of the room in question, then add photos of each common area the tenant will be able to use. We recommend adding at least four photos to your listing. If you have outdoor space, don't hesitate to show it. It can really make a difference 🏡
A picture is often worth a thousand words. Just like with online shopping, renters need to see the property before booking. Clear, attractive photos increase your chances of receiving inquiries.
Our tips for taking great photos
- Good resolution: opt for a minimum resolution of 1024 x 683 pixels.
If you don't know it, simply choose the largest available photo.
Photos taken with a smartphone are perfectly acceptable on Roomlala.
- Horizontal format: favor photos in landscape format.
They better showcase the spaces and give a better idea of the size of the rooms.
- Clean and tidy accommodation: a messy or poorly maintained accommodation is immediately noticeable.
Remember to clean up before taking the photos.
- Bright accommodation: take your photos during the day, with the shutters and curtains open.
Let in as much natural light as possible and turn on the lamps if necessary.
Avoid photos taken against the light, facing a window.

And what about videos? 🎥
The same advice applies to videos . You can upload one directly from your phone. This is a real plus for helping tenants envision and visualize their future living space. We highly recommend adding one.
How do you make your video?
- Simply film with your smartphone
- Upload the video from your phone to your listing
- Show the room first, then the common areas
- Film during the day, with the shutters and curtains open, to take advantage of natural light
✍️ Note:
Your video must not be longer than one minute.
A short, clear, and well-lit video is always more effective than a long, blurry tour.
