Service fees as a host
Updated on 06/04/2026
When a booking is made, service fees are deducted from the amount paid to you. Don't worry: here is what they correspond to and how they are calculated from a host's perspective.
What are the service fees for?
Service fees are associated with online bookings on Roomlala. They fund the platform and the guarantees related to the rental:
- Guaranteed payment of your rent
- Compensation in the event of cancellation, according to the applicable conditions
- Insurance tailored to the rental
How much do they cost?
As a host, the service fees represent 3% of the amount paid to you, with a minimum of $3. This rate is the same regardless of the rental duration, whether short or long. For long-term rentals paid in multiple installments, the fees are simply split across each installment.
The exact amount is always displayed to you before confirmation: you know precisely what will be paid to you, with no unpleasant surprises.
How can I stop paying service fees?
With the Premium Pass, your service fees are completely eliminated: you receive your full rent. The Pass is a 12-month subscription that you can purchase from your personal account, under the Premium Pass section.
